Exploring the Roots of Photography – September 9 – October 29, 2011

Exhibition at Art Intersection, located at 207 north gilbert road, suite 201, Gilbert AZ 85234

Art Intersection will be exhibiting photographic work dating from the mid-19th century through the 21st century. Examples of many of the medium’s most celebrated processes will be displayed including, daguerreotypes, platinum/palladium prints, photogravures, and gelatin silver prints from some of the most prominent photographers of the past centuries.

Vintage works by Eugene Atget, Paul Strand, Alfred Stieglitz, Harry Callahan, Aaron Siskind, as well as the work of many notable contemporary photographers has been loaned to us courtesy of Northlight Gallery, School of Art, Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts, ASU; Jeremy Rowe, and Tilt Gallery.

Tilt on the Road featuring A Taste of Historic Old Town Cottonwood with samples from AZ Stronghold Vineyards, Pillsbury Wine Co., Bonne Lait, Verde Valley Olive Oil Traders, Orion Bakery and Crema Cafe is pleased to present Copper Mine by Angela Franks Wells. In 2011, the photographer received an Arizona Commission on the Arts 2010 artist project grant to investigate contemporary and historical aspects of Arizona’s copper mining industry.

Tilt Gallery on the Road at the Maison Fine Art and Antiques. Located at 1017 North Main Street in Cottonwood, Arizona will present an exhibition of selected prints.

Inside the Maison will also present local phoenix artists Linda Parker, “Spirit Houses” “Cherry Bombin Wear” all bicycle recycled reconstructed wear by designer Angela Rocobono, Hand crafted furniture out of recycled materials by Paul Jacques and local Cottonwood ceramicist by Virginia Pates.

Tilt on the Road will be at the Maison for the summer season. Please come and visit and check out some of these local businesses nestled in the center of Old Town Cottonwood.
