Advanced Digital Negatives and Ziatype Printing Process
Instructor: Rachel Woodburn

In this advanced workshop we will explore new ways of combining Ziatype historical process printing with the technology to create digital negatives.

During this hands-on workshop, participants will mix their own chemistry; previous experience working with the alternative processes is essential. We will enlarge negatives from digital files and traditional film. Demonstrations and instruction will be given on how to manipulate and adjust the image to make precise digital negatives. We will experiment with different ways of making negatives and then contact print them using varying papers and chemistry. Participants will work with their digital negatives to create final Ziatype prints. Be ready to create, explore and have fun experimenting with new technologies and historical processes.
